Results from OpFlow instrument tray rationalization for OB/GYN were presented at the 2021 ACOG Annual Clinical and Scientific Meeting.

 
 

Here are some of the highlights:

  • Usage data collected for 307 OB/GYN cases across 47 surgeons

  • 7 unique OB/GYN tray types (138 total trays) included in scope

  • Average instrument usage per tray: 34.8%

  • Average approved instrument reduction per tray: 26.5%

  • Total number of instruments removed from OB/GYN trays: 2,826

  • Reduction of 79,748 instruments that need to be sterilized each year

  • Cost avoidance of $211,950 for instrument re-purchase

  • Annual sterile processing expense reduction of $67,786
